What are Projects in Magica?

Projects bundle related tasks together with shared context. Use a project when you want Magica to keep a consistent persona, set of files, or accumulated context across many chats — for example, all your marketing work or research on a specific topic.

Open Projects from the left sidebar or go to magica.com/app/chat/projects.

Each project has three panels:

  • Project Files — files Magica treats as attached to every task in the project.
  • Project Instructions — custom instructions applied to every task in the project.
  • Project Memory — project-scoped memory, separate from your account-level memory.

To create one, click New project, then pick a name, icon, and color. You can also move an existing task into a project from the task's menu using Add to project.

Good to know

  • When creating a project, you choose whether its memory is Shared (sees your global memories plus its own) or Isolated (project-only). This choice cannot be changed after the project is created.
  • Chats started inside a project automatically inherit its files, instructions, and memory.
